That\u2019s right; you read correctly. 18 cores is exactly what we meant. To say dynamite comes in small packages would be an insult to the Tiki.<\/p>\n

Thanks to its absurdly over specced CPU, the 18-core Xeon\u00a0E5-2699 V3, when describing Falcon Northwest\u2019s newest Tiki PC<\/a>, overkill is an understatement.<\/p>\n

But wait, it gets better. Intel\u2019s super CPU is also hyper threading capable, making the Xeon\u00a0E5-2699 V3 a CPU with 36 threads!<\/p>\n

And while raw CPU performance, something this CPU has in spades, is great to have, it\u2019ll mean little to nothing without a meaty GPU to back it up.<\/p>\n

So in the name of overkill, Falcon Northwest has strapped a GTX Titan X into this little baby, turning the Tiki up to 11.<\/p>\n

With the compute performance to handle 4K games all on its own, a GTX Titan X<\/a> is one heck of a card.<\/p>\n

Project CARS<\/em> at 12K<\/a> is unlikely with but a single GTX Titan X, but running something like The Witcher 3<\/em> on Ultra<\/a> would be child\u2019s play.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re at all technically inclined, you\u2019re probably curious how Falcon Northwest has managed to squeeze a Xeon\u00a0E5-2699 V3 into a tiny chassis like the Tiki.<\/p>\n

According to PC World<\/a>, it\u2019s all down to Asrock\u2019s X99E-ITX\/AC motherboard.<\/p>\n

In order to fit LGA2011-V3 and its X99 chipset onto a Mini ITX motherboard, Asrock would have had to accommodate 4 DDR4 RAM modules.<\/p>\n

That may sound like good news, DDR4 is absurdly fast after all, but there just isn\u2019t room, so Asrock added 2.<\/p>\n

That means dual rather than quad-channel RAM support, and around half the bandwidth, which isn\u2019t optimum, but with 32GB RAM at your disposal, you won\u2019t notice in everyday applications.<\/p>\n
