President Jacob Zuma does not have to pay for Nkandla\u2019s\u00a0R246-million security upgrades, including its \u2018fire pool\u2019, chicken run, kraal, and soil retention wall.<\/p>\n

The firepool I understand \u2013 number one needs a watery place to hide when the raging fires of KZN come and the low-water pressure of the area means you cannot extinguish the\u00a0now on-fire chickens running around the\u00a0property. (There\u2019s a Nando\u2019s ad in there somewhere.)<\/p>\n

The kraal is also important, as it keeps Nkandla\u2019s\u00a0cows from trampling\u00a0foreign\u00a0presidents on state visits. Why are there cows there in the first place? Because nothing softens up G8 leader better than feeding a bovine\u00a0some grass and lasciviously patting its udders.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t comment on the soil retention wall, a.k.a amphitheatre, as my knowledge of the need to hold up large piles of dirt is limited. Apparently it doubles as\u00a0an emergency assembly point for Zuma\u2019s family \u2013 in case the firepool is otherwise occupied.<\/p>\n

But enough with Nkandla \u2013 bad jokes can only take away so much of the utter disbelief.<\/p>\n
