href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/xbox\/76294-microsofts-new-xbox-one-controller-to-sport-a-3-5mm-headphone-jack.html\" target=\"_blank\">accidental leak of a new Xbox One controller design<\/a> a couple weeks ago, we\u2019ve known a new controller as well as improved console were on the way.<\/p>\n<p>Major Nelson and Microsoft have recently unveiled the newest 1TB Xbox One, and it sports the newly designed controller for good measure.<\/p>\n<p>As you may have guessed, the new Xbox One is equipped with a 1TB hard drive, a necessary commodity given the size of games released for the Xbox One.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_77016\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1433867797-xboxone-1tbconsole.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77016\" class=\"wp-image-77016\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1433867797-xboxone-1tbconsole.png\" alt=\"New 1TB Xbox One\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-77016\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The box is the same, but what lies inside is a nice improvement.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The biggest improvements, however, have been made to the new controller.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the 3.5mm headset jack, meaning the controller will support virtually any headset, \u201cyou\u2019ll also have the option to adjust headset volume, mic monitoring, and voice and game audio balance through the Settings menu on your console\u201d.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_77018\" style=\"width: 549px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1433867797-xboxone-controller.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77018\" class=\"size-full wp-image-77018\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1433867797-xboxone-controller.png\" alt=\"New Xbox One controller with 3.5mm headset jack\" width=\"539\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-77018\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You can see the 3.5mm headset jack to the left of the charging port.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Taking it one step further, Microsoft has also improved the quality and volume of audio the controller supplies to headsets.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve also improved the \u201cbumpers for more consistent performance\u201d as well as the controller\u2019s wireless capabilities, allowing it to finally update wirelessly rather than requiring a USB cable.<\/p>\n<p>And if you\u2019re very lucky, you\u2019ll get a special <em>Halo: The Master Chief Collection<\/em> included with your new console purchase, though it\u2019s a limited offer in select regions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Q86LNWlQEg0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Finally, in accordance with the release of Windows 10, Microsoft has promised to take PC gaming more seriously, and have announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Going for $79.95 (approaching R1000) when bundled with a controller or $24.99 (just over R300) when purchased standalone, the adapter will allow PC gamers to connect their Xbox One controllers to their Windows 10 PC, through either USB 2.0 or 3.0, and game the night away.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_77026\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1433867797-xbox-wirelessadapterforwindows1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77026\" class=\"wp-image-77026\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/1433867797-xbox-wirelessadapterforwindows1.png\" alt=\"Xbox One Wireless Adapter\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-77026\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">There&#8217;s no technical reason for this to be Windows 10 only.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Rather absurdly, the dongle looks to support only Windows 10\u2026 for no obvious reason we might add.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s probably part of Microsoft\u2019s campaign to push Windows 10, but all it\u2019s going to do is limit sales of the adapter.<\/p>\n<p>After all, there\u2019s now a <a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/pc\/76792-steams-controller-unveiled-finally-a-controller-for-pc-gamers.html\" target=\"_blank\">Steam controller on the prowl<\/a>, and we\u2019re going to get it over the adapter as a result of Microsoft\u2019s silliness.<\/p>\n<p>In case you prefer the Xbox One controller, worry not.
