{"id":77284,"date":"2015-06-15T15:30:30","date_gmt":"2015-06-15T13:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=77284"},"modified":"2015-06-15T16:18:00","modified_gmt":"2015-06-15T14:18:00","slug":"fallout-4-arrives-november-10th-everything-you-need-to-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/77284-fallout-4-arrives-november-10th-everything-you-need-to-know","title":{"rendered":"Fallout 4 arrives November 10th: everything you need to know"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"my-4\">Bethesda&#8217;s E3 Press Conference<\/h3>\n<p>As has always been Bethesda\u2019s goal for any game of theirs, player freedom and exploration is at the cornerstone of design and execution.<\/p>\n<p>With that goal in mind, Bethesda has gone nuts with <em>Fallout 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We knew that <em>Fallout 4<\/em> was big; <a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/news\/76672-fallout-4-is-coming-its-exactly-what-we-wanted.html\" target=\"_blank\">the game\u2019s announcement trailer<\/a> as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/news\/76912-fans-reveal-fallout-4-map-and-locations.html\" target=\"_blank\">leaked maps and locations<\/a> suggested as much.<\/p>\n<p>This E3 2015 Press Conference showing is a confirmation of that fact:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QWRBZs63auM\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Too long; didn\u2019t watch:<\/strong> 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse, one in which humanity has built Vaults in preparation for, the sole survivor of Vault 111 emerges into the most ambitious Wasteland yet.<\/p>\n<p>Rumours that <em>Fallout 4<\/em> was using the Gamebryo Engine were flimsy from the outset; it makes no sense for Bethesda to use the engine in any case.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-6-e1434373208897.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77312\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-6-e1434373208897.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So we weren\u2019t at all surprised to hear that the Creation Engine is, indeed, behind the scenes of <em>Fallout 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Creation Engine it may be, don\u2019t expect the same visual experience you got in <em>Skyrim<\/em> \u2013 the Creation Engine has seen substantial updates since <em>The Elder Scrolls V\u2019s<\/em> release.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-9-e1434373214715.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77318\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-9-e1434373214715.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4 - Bethesda Press Conference - Screenshots (9)\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Physics, for example, is catered for by the engine, and has come a long way since the rigid and really rather unappealing physics of <em>Skyrim<\/em> (the Creation Engine) or <em>Fallout 3<\/em> (the Gamebryo Engine) prior to that.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps even more noticeable is the inclusion of some very beautiful dynamic volumetric lighting. <em>Fallout 4\u2019s<\/em> atmosphere had our jaw dropping from start to finish.<\/p>\n<p>Surfaces and textures have come to life as a result of this improved renderer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-8-e1434373221145.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77316\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-8-e1434373221145.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bethesda also demonstrated a number of improvements to the sequel to <em>Fallout 3<\/em> with fully cinematic conversations, a voiced protagonist, an improved combat system (especially outside of VATS) and more.<\/p>\n<p>One of our favourite improvements to conversations, minus the protagonist\u2019s newfound voice, is the cinematic approach \u2013 it reminds us of <em>Dragon Age: Inquisition<\/em> or <em>The Witcher 3\u2019s <\/em>approach to conversations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-3-e1434373199647.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77306\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-3-e1434373199647.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-2-e1434373191927.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77304\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-2-e1434373191927.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The major difference for <em>Fallout 4<\/em> is that you may enter, leave or re-enter a conversation as you choose \u2013 you are not hard-locked into conversations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-1-e1434373184306.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77302\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-1-e1434373184306.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-7-e1434373227373.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77314\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-7-e1434373227373.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-4-e1434373168158.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77308\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-4-e1434373168158.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-5-e1434373178440.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77310\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Fallout-4-Bethesda-Press-Conference-Screenshots-5-e1434373178440.jpg\" alt=\"Fallout 4\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On top of that: character customisation has been substantially enhanced, gone are the days of 3000 sliders; your dog compatriot, as well as anyone else who joins you along the way we assume, is aware of your surroundings and can be given contextually appropriate commands; and combat outside of VATS looks a lot smoother and like a more enjoyable, competent system.<\/p>\n<p>No wonder it\u2019s taken Bethesda so long to announce this game. The level of detail for <em>Fallout 4<\/em> is absurd. <em>Skyrim\u2019s<\/em> got nothing on this.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Weapon and power armour customisation<\/h3>\n<p>And don\u2019t think customisation is limited to your character\u2019s model. Weapons as well as your very own set of power armour is completely customisable.<\/p>\n<p>If you thought what modders did with <em>Fallout 3<\/em> as well as <em>Fallout: New Vegas<\/em> was something, wait until you see this:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/unji5X-zl8o\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Weapon and armour customisation has us so excited. then they took it to a whole new level.<\/p>\n<p>Weapon and armour customisation is evidence of that. Well how about shelters?<\/p>\n<p>Some of the most popular mods in <em>Fallout 3<\/em> and <em>New Vegas<\/em> was personalised or custom shelters, for obvious reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Bethesda is finally allowing the player to build their own shelters as they choose.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Oj06B-QQJTM\" width=\"635\" height=\"388\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t wait to build our own shelters.
