{"id":77384,"date":"2015-06-17T10:00:40","date_gmt":"2015-06-17T08:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=77384"},"modified":"2015-06-17T10:10:25","modified_gmt":"2015-06-17T08:10:25","slug":"5-most-unexpected-e3-announcements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/features\/77384-5-most-unexpected-e3-announcements","title":{"rendered":"5 most unexpected E3 announcements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The big E3 conferences have taken place, and while there were a lot of expected sequels, reboots and follow-ups announcements, they also reminded us that some secrets are able to be kept, as we round up five of the most surprising reveals coming out of this year&#8217;s expo.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Horizon: Zero Dawn<\/h3>\n<p><em>Killzone&#8217;s<\/em> studio, Guerrilla Games, didn&#8217;t unveil a new entry into its gritty shooter franchise, but instead showcased a new game,\u00a0<em>Horizon: Zero Dawn<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The game is a third-person action adventure game that is gorgeous to look at and features great hunting, stealth and combat mechanics. However, there are really only two words you need to know: Robot. Dinosaurs.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Fkg5UVTsKCE?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"336\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Unravel<\/h3>\n<p><em>Unravel<\/em> is a physics-based puzzle game starring Yarnie, a creature made of yarn who can use his own body to explore the world around him and overcome obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p>Creator Martin Sahlin revealed the game and talked about his studio, Coldwood, on EA&#8217;s E3 stage. <em>Unravel&#8217;s<\/em> debut trailer is joyful and adventurous &#8212; watch it below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FTHGMOhpwUc?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"336\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">South Park: The Fractured But Whole<\/h3>\n<p>Ubisoft is back with another <em>South Park<\/em> RPG. While <em>Stick of Truth<\/em> was a medieval fantasy thing, this new game\u2014titled <em>The Fractured But Whole<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 is going to be a superhero satire.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <em>Stick Of Truth<\/em> was developed by fan-favorite RPG studio Obsidian Entertainment (best known for making games that everyone likes even though they occasionally run horrendously), but <em>Fractured<\/em> is being developed internally at Ubisoft.<\/p>\n<p>It remains to be seen whether or not that\u2019s a good thing.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AB6P5gpNan0?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Ghost Recon: Wildlands<\/h3>\n<p>Ubisoft announced <em>Ghost Recon: Wildlands<\/em>, an open-world, cooperative shooter in development at Ubisoft Paris, the studio that co-developed <em>Ghost Recon: Future Soldier<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>A trailer for the upcoming title was revealed during the company&#8217;s E3 press conference.
