{"id":77520,"date":"2015-06-19T13:00:50","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T11:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=77520"},"modified":"2015-06-19T15:42:54","modified_gmt":"2015-06-19T13:42:54","slug":"xbox-one-backwards-compatibility-improves-game-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/77520-xbox-one-backwards-compatibility-improves-game-performance","title":{"rendered":"Xbox One backwards compatibility improves game performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Microsoft&#8217;s E3 announcement that the Xbox One will have\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/xbox\/77354-microsofts-e3-2015-press-conference-highlights.html\">backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games<\/a>, we now have actual video proof of the performance benefits of the Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p>In the video below, you can see the original Xbox 360 version of\u00a0<em>Mass Effect<\/em> running on both the\u00a0original console and the Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p>The increased performance from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One is quite noticeable.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kjblk1ADq9k\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The 360 version of\u00a0<em>Mass Effect<\/em>\u00a0had\u00a0frequent stuttering, but as you can see in the above comparison, now\u00a0runs smoothly on\u00a0the Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p>On top of this, texture pop-in has been\u00a0vastly improved and while there are some minor issues, the improvements are easy to see.<\/p>\n<p>Character lighting appears much darker than before and\u00a0the\u00a0clunky controls are\u00a0apparently going to be less of an issue with the Xbox One controller.<\/p>\n<p>Load times are also much shorter than on the Xbox 360, even with a hard drive.
