{"id":7811,"date":"2010-09-30T16:06:00","date_gmt":"2010-09-30T14:06:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"nag-lan-rage-to-attempt-guinness-world-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/7811-nag-lan-rage-to-attempt-guinness-world-record","title":{"rendered":"NAG LAN @ rAge to attempt Guinness World Record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With an eight year history, the NAG LAN @ rAge saw humble beginnings, with 200 gamers attending the first event. <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gaming\/9868-rAge-LAN-2009-sets-record.html\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"rAge LAN 2009 sets record\">2009&rsquo;s rAge LAN set a South African record<\/a> for the largest LAN event, with 2 162 gamers taking part in the gaming festival. This year the number of attendees falls slightly short of that number, with 2 080 gamers registered to participate.<\/p>\n<p>This hasn&rsquo;t stopped the record breaking attitude however; SA gamers will be attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest non-stop LAN.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The current record was set by gamers at Cyber Fusion 2009, who played for 40 hours non-stop at the Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst these gamers represent SA and try to break a record, the rAge expo will be going on all around.
