I love me some Collector\u2019s Editions. Those pretty figurines; those bundled comic books; and those awesome hardcover art books.<\/p>\n

But some people love Collector\u2019s Editions a little more than others, especially when it comes to rare, limited quantity editions.<\/p>\n

Searching the net over the weekend for a Bayonetta 2<\/em> First Print Edition copy, having won one at a local event and wanted to see what the fuss was about, I came across a few other games that have Limited Editions or Collector\u2019s Editions that are very, very pricey.<\/p>\n

Here they are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bayonetta 2 First Print Edition<\/a> \u2013 R2, 499<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Limited to just over 15, 000 copies, the Bayonetta 2<\/em> First Print Edition came in a sexy book replica that resembled the angel book from both games.<\/p>\n

The box came with both Bayonetta<\/em> and Bayonetta 2<\/em> bundled in one box but in separate game boxes compared to the normal edition that had both games in one box.<\/p>\n

Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunters Collector\u2019s Edition<\/a> \u2013 R92, 000 \u2013 R180, 000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

200, that is the number of Fortune Hunter Editions that ever shipped.<\/p>\n

Naughty Dog\u2019s second instalment in the Uncharted<\/em> series had the Fortune Hunter Edition that came a replica dagger artefact from the game.<\/p>\n

The bundle also came with a normal edition of the game compared to the Steelbook edition that everyone got when ordering the Collector\u2019s Edition. So that dagger will essentially cost you around R90, 000.00.<\/p>\n

Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunters Collector\u2019s Edition<\/p><\/div>\n

Mortal Kombat X Kollector\u2019s Edition by Coarse<\/a> \u2013 R2, 828<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mortal Kombat X<\/em> came in two editions, the Kollector\u2019s Edition and the Kollector\u2019s Editon by Coarse.<\/p>\n

The standard Kollector\u2019s Edition shipped in over 70, 000 copies whereas the Coarse Edition shipped just over 35, 000.<\/p>\n

The Coarse Edition didn\u2019t hit SA, but if you are keen on spending R3, 000.00, you can go ahead and purchase it for what amounts to double the retail price.<\/p>\n

Mortal Kombat X Kollector\u2019s Edition by Coarse<\/p><\/div>\n

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Collector\u2019s Edition<\/a> \u2013 R3, 000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When the Witcher 3<\/em> launched here back in May, the retail price of the game was R, 2499.00.<\/p>\n

This was much higher than the US version which was listed at $149.00; this was due to the shipping and logistics required of such a huge box, which is understandable.<\/p>\n

Those of you who failed to pick up this epic edition back in May can rest assured that you can purchase the product for just over R3, 000.00. If you feel like purchasing the content separately, you can also grab the medallion for R550.00, the pac of Gwent cards or R1, 500.00, the cloth map for R300.00, the Steelbook, without the game, for R300.00 and the Griffin Statue for R1, 000.00.<\/p>\n

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Collector\u2019s Edition<\/p><\/div>\n

Assassin\u2019s Creed Limited Edition<\/a> \u2013 R80, 000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Before Unity<\/em> and Black Flag<\/em>, and before Ezio\u2019s overly-focused storyline, there was the original Assassin\u2019s Creed.<\/p>\n

Bundled with the original game, in a standard game box, this edition also came with na Altair figurine. Today, this Edition goes for over R80, 000, which is absurd.<\/p>\n

And that’s not because it was limited, but it’s the oldest edition in the Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n

Bioshock Limited Collector\u2019s Edition<\/a> \u2013 R3, 800<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the greatest games of last generation was Bioshock<\/em>. The birth of the Big Daddy and the start of the beautiful world of Rapture.<\/p>\n

The Collector\u2019s Edition for the original Bioshock<\/em> came with a replica Big Daddy, every fan\u2019s dream.<\/p>\n

Today, this edition goes for around R3, 800.00, which is not that bad given the game\u2019s huge success.<\/p>\n

Bioshock Limited Collector\u2019s Edition<\/p><\/div>\n

Ni No Kuni: Wizard\u2019s Edition<\/a> \u2013 R3, 600<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the best RPGs on the PS3 also has one of the rarest Collector\u2019s Editions to date.<\/p>\n

Ni No Kuni’s<\/em> Wizard\u2019s Edition started selling out just days after the announcement.<\/p>\n

This limited edition came with a replica of the Wizard\u2019s Companion Book that was featured in the game, as well as a Drippy Plush Doll and two exclusive gold familiars.<\/p>\n

Dying Light’s My Apocalypse Edition<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 R4.8 million

Technically not available for purchase in SA, we couldn’t help but include this ridiculous Collector’s Edition.<\/p>\n
