{"id":78512,"date":"2015-07-14T14:00:31","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T12:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=78512"},"modified":"2015-07-14T14:14:51","modified_gmt":"2015-07-14T12:14:51","slug":"gears-of-war-ultimate-edition-for-pc-is-more-than-just-a-port","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/78512-gears-of-war-ultimate-edition-for-pc-is-more-than-just-a-port","title":{"rendered":"Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for PC is more than just a port"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During a\u00a0panel event at San Diego&#8217;s Comic-Con and hosted by acclaimed voice actor John DiMaggio, the voice of Marcus Fenix, Xbox and development studio The Coalition shared insights on the development of <em>Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Included in the panel was a behind-the-scenes look at how some of the most iconic cinematics were recreated in the game.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HzgmtaXv6wQ\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>For those who don&#8217;t know,<em> Gears of War: Ultimate Edition <\/em>remasters the classic Xbox 360 game. Included in this remaster is a number of gameplay improvements from the more recent games in the series.<\/p>\n<p>But of course, with a PC release on the way, gamers want to know whether we&#8217;ll be getting a shoddy port or not, and justifiably so.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that during the panel, differences between the PC version and the Xbox One version of\u00a0<em>Gears of War: Ultimate Edition <\/em>were discussed, and it&#8217;s more than just a port.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0PC version will support 4K resolution, with DirectX 12 support, including unlocked framerates and all of the Windows 10 features including\u00a0Xbox live, GameDVR and screenshots.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the PC version will take full advantage of our PC&#8217;s capabilities and features 4K textures specifically authored for the increased performance of the platform.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the treatment that all PC versions deserve.<\/p>\n<p>For Xbox One gamers, The Coalition promises to have\u00a01080p visuals, including 60FPS competitive multiplayer with 19 maps and six game modes, and\u00a0five campaign chapters never released on console.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there are the\u00a0rebuilt cinematic sequences, as mentioned before, remastered 7.1 surround audio, and seamless matchmaking to boot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/1436493290-xboxone-500gbconsole-gowultimateedition-us-can-e1436862248735.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78522\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/1436493290-xboxone-500gbconsole-gowultimateedition-us-can-e1436862248735.png\" alt=\"Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Xbox One bundle\" width=\"600\" height=\"518\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was also\u00a0revealed that the\u00a0Xbox One <em>Gears of War: Ultimate Edition<\/em> Bundle is now available for pre-order and will be launching in the U.S. starting August 25th, with local dates for us to follow.<\/p>\n<p>The bundle\u00a0includes: an Xbox One 500GB Console, an Xbox One Wireless Controller featuring a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a full digital game download of <em>Gears of War: Ultimate Edition<\/em>, early access to the 2016 <em>Gears of War 4<\/em> Multiplayer Beta, the Superstar Cole multiplayer skin and a 14-day Xbox Live trial.<\/p>\n<p>The bundle will cost\u00a0$349 (R4348,98), which is before import tax and duties for us South Africans.<\/p>\n<h4>Source: <a
