In fact, the Core i7-6700k “Skylake” is around 29% faster than the chip it replaces, the i7-4790k “Devil’s Canyon”.

Krzanich further said, “we expect that this addition to the roadmap will deliver new features and improved performance, and pave the way for a smooth transition to 10-nanometer.”

In addition to this, Intel also admitted that PC demand was weaker than expected for the latest CPUs. However, they feel that the July 29th launch of Windows 10 should provide a surge in market interest.

Despite all of the negative PC talk, Intel pulled out a decent $13.2 billion for the quarter. So they aren’t doing too badly.

We excitedly are waiting for the chance to get our hands on Skylake in the next six months, hopefully.

Source: Engadget, KitGuru

More Skylake News

Intel’s Core i7-6700k ‘Skylake’ up to 29% faster than the i7-4790k ‘Devil’s Canyon’

Intel’s Skylake Core i5-6600K and Core i7-6700k will debut at Gamescom 2015

Intel’s Skylake-S CPUs officially detailed

[7
14800,8059,1085,1727,14798,1969,15397,14802,11568
post-78620","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-hardware","tag-cpus","tag-delays","tag-hardware-2","tag-intel","tag-kaby-lake","tag-news-2","tag-pc","tag-processors","tag-skylake
["GET
