For the moment, AMD rules the low-end GPU bracket with their new Radeon R7 360 and R7 370 cards.<\/p>\n

NVIDIA’s only Maxwell 2<\/a> powered option is the GeForce GTX 960, a significantly more expensive card not really suited to low-end markets.<\/p>\n

Enter the GeForce GTX 950, powered by the same GPU as the GTX 960, the GM206, but cut down to make it more affordable.<\/p>\n

Of course, we’ve known about the GTX 950<\/a> for some time, but its final specifications have finally been confirmed. And it’s scheduled to release on August 17th.<\/p>\n

Six SMM units means 768 CUDA Cores and 48 texture mapping units, and that the GTX 950 will hold onto all 32 ROPs available on the GM206.<\/p>\n

The GeForce GTX 950 will also come with clocks of 1150 to 1250 MHz base and 1350 up to 1450 MHz boost clock speeds, and will sport a bandwidth of 107.68GB\/s thanks to its 128-bit bus and 6.6 to 6.75 GHz VRAM frequency.<\/p>\n

It effectively translates into a card that outdoes the R7 360, and should sit around the same performance level of the R7 370, if slightly less so.<\/p>\n
