If you’re lining up some free time for a little curb-stomping fun when Gears of War: Ultimate Edition<\/em> releases this month, then you better free up your schedule because the overhauled game comes with all past\u00a0Gears of War<\/em> games.<\/p>\n

If you buy Gears of War: Ultimate Edition<\/em> for Xbox One, you’ll get the entire Gears collection via Xbox One Backward Compatibility<\/a> \u2013 that includes\u00a0Gears of War<\/em>, Gears of War 2<\/em>, Gears of War 3<\/em> and Gears of War: Judgment<\/em>.<\/p>\n

There’s a small catch though (well, not a catch, more of a requirement) \u2013 you have to play Ultimate Edition<\/em> on Xbox Live at some point from August 25th<\/strong> to December 31st, 2015<\/strong> to access the four previous games via Backward Compatibility when the feature launches in September.<\/p>\n

This is a great opportunity for those who never played the games to backtrack through the original trilogy and spin-off (Gears of War: Judgment<\/em>), but what if you already own them?<\/p>\n

Well, you can even keep all your previously-saved Xbox 360 files, game add-ons, achievements and play with friends on Xbox Live no matter which Xbox console they’re on. Pretty neat ‘ey.<\/p>\n
