Point Topic has released its Q2 2015 broadband tariff trends report, which shows that the average cost per megabit continues to fall for services delivered over cable and fibre networks.<\/p>\n

However, the price per megabit for residential and business DSL services \u2013 including ADSL and VDSL \u2013 has increased in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cCopper-based broadband tariffs have been increasing on a global basis compared to its competing technologies,\u201d said Point Topic.<\/p>\n

The price for DSL services has also been consistently higher than cable and fibre equivalents over the last five years.<\/p>\n

The graphs below show how the average cost per Mbps for business and residential broadband services has changed over time.<\/p>\n
