2015 has been a year with no end of controversy and betrayal. Controversy and drama are a part of the industry<\/a>, like it or not.<\/p>\n

From Hideo Kojima\u2019s enigmatic departure from Konami to Hatred\u2019s <\/em>wanton mass-murdering, this has been quite a raucous year.<\/p>\n

Konami’s downfall<\/a> being a particularly painful set of circumstances for myself, a formerly massive fan of theirs, and still a love of their games.<\/p>\n

\"Kojima<\/a>

Kojima and Konami, some conspiracy illuminati stuff is going on here.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

The latest slap-in-the-face comes from Destiny <\/em>and Halo\u2019s<\/em> creator Bungie who gave Tyrion Lannister the axe.<\/p>\n

The rather dry performance by the actor has been completely cut from the first scene of Destiny<\/em>, and the rest of his voice acting will follow suit in the upcoming expansion, The Taken King<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Dinklage<\/a>

Dinklage is no longer the ‘Little Light’.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Ghost is a pretty important character in the grand scheme of things, so Dinklage needs replacing.<\/p>\n

Nolan North, a man with an enormous repertoire in film, animation and video game voice acting will be the new soul of the \u2018Ghost\u2019, the floating robot who follows players through the Destiny<\/em> and assists them when needed.<\/p>\n

Some of North\u2019s most notable roles include Nathan Drake in the Uncharted <\/em>series and Desmond Miles in Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em>. North will re-enact all of the Ghost\u2019s lines from the beginning of the game and continue on with new lines in The Taken King <\/em>expansion.<\/p>\n

\"Nolan<\/a>

Nolan North – google him and be amazed by how many games he has been featured in.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Creative director Luke Smith had this to say, \u201cWe wanted Nolan North\u2019s version of the Ghost to wake you up at the start of the journey at level one and follow you all the way to level forty.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

From North, \u201cThey really wanted me to put my stamp on it. They let me bring what I wanted to the role. You have to give it your own spin. For that reason, I specifically said I didn\u2019t want to hear anything that someone else had done, so that I didn\u2019t have some preconceived notion of what it has to be. Instead, I just gave it my stamp, and let them direct me accordingly.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Given North’s talent, we can’t wait to see what he does with the role.<\/p>\n

\"Oni<\/a>

Oni was my favourite title from this company. Kudos to those who have ever played it!<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Personally, I was rather underwhelmed by Dinklage\u2019s uninspiring efforts; his commentary was dull and far from amusing, often souring the scene.<\/p>\n

It was almost as if he had already played through each level a hundred times, as is the norm when it comes to Destiny<\/em>.<\/p>\n

I was so excited for this game and initially I enjoyed the time spent with friends, blasting our way through the galaxy, but the minute you complete the campaign it\u2019s almost as if you hit a brick wall.<\/p>\n

It becomes filled with the same moves and old missions being repeated over and over again. For a game that cost $140 million, there sure was little to do.<\/p>\n

The gameplay in general was also just extremely monotonous and repetitive, so I didn\u2019t even bother with the expansions.<\/p>\n

\"It<\/a>

It should have been one of the best games ever.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Still, it will be interesting to see how North handles the role of the chirpy little bot sidekick. Perhaps a more enthusiastic and emotive Ghost will come to life?<\/p>\n
