Telkom recently launched new wholesale ADSL<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0lines, one of which is\u00a0a 1Mbps option which it sells for\u00a0under R50 per month.<\/p>\n

Axxess was one of the first ISPs to offer the new 1Mbps line to clients, which\u00a0retails for R55 per month.<\/p>\n

The launch of the \u201ccheap\u201d ADSL service\u00a0is an attractive offer for low-usage users who do not require high download speeds, or use bandwidth-intensive applications.<\/p>\n

This then raises the question: Which option \u2013 DSL, mobile, or FTTH \u2013 is the cheapest for home users, based on their monthly data needs?<\/p>\n

The tables below\u00a0answer that question \u2013 based on light, medium, and heavy usage profiles.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that a speed increase was factored in as data allocations increased.<\/p>\n
