A couple of industrious indie developers have stunned the retro gaming world with their 2.5D homage to the classic platformers Sonic 1, 2 and 3. They have released a demo of their project containing three re-imagined levels from Sonic 2 – definitely worth the 100mb download. If you’re in the mood for some dark point-and-click adventuring, Gretel and Hansel might just be your glass of Krefelder. There is plenty of grimly charming water-colour style artwork to appreciate, and the semblance of a story loosely based on the children’s fairy tale. Gretel is on a mission to find her brother as she explores the twisted world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Corporate Climber<\/strong> – play game<\/a><\/p>\n

Another cool game from Pixeljam<\/a>, who previously brought us classics such as Dino Run and Gamma Bros. The game is a satirical look at the ambition to make one’s way in the corporate world. Players will have to reach an elevator at the end of each level that takes then one step closer to the big cheese at the top. Death lurks at every turn and is virtually guaranteed, but this is an amusing part of the experience. Death only lasts a second or two before you are back in the action. Pixeljam has hinted at a number of secrets within the game and has promised updates sometime this week.<\/p>\n
