And if you are too, and you just happen to be a part of the PC master race, just be sure your PC has enough memory to support this beast.<\/p>\n<p>Powered by the mighty Frostbite 3 engine and developed by a team known for pushing graphical boundaries, <em>Star Wars Battlefront<\/em> looks unbelievable, <a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/news\/77994-star-wars-battlefront-at-4k-looks-well-unbelievable.html\" target=\"_blank\">particularly on PC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But EA has just updated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.origin.com\/en-za\/store\/buy\/star-wars-battlefront\/pc-download\/base-game\/standard-edition\" target=\"_blank\">minimum and recommended requirements for the game<\/a>, and there are a few eye-popping hardware requirements indeed.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Minimum PC System Requirements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>OS:<\/strong>\u00a064-bit Windows 7 or later<br \/>\n<strong>Processor (Intel):<\/strong>\u00a0Intel i3-6300T or equivalent<br \/>\n<strong>Memory:<\/strong>\u00a08GB RAM<br \/>\n<strong>Hard Drive:<\/strong>\u00a0At least 40 GB of free space<br \/>\n<strong>Graphics card (NVIDIA):<\/strong>\u00a0nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB<br \/>\n<strong>Graphics card (ATI):<\/strong>\u00a0ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB<br \/>\n<strong>DirectX:<\/strong>\u00a011.0 Compatible video card or equivalent<br \/>\n<strong>Online Connection Requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0512 KBPS or faster Internet connection<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Recommended PC System Requirements<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>OS:<\/strong>\u00a064-bit Windows 10 or later<br \/>\n<strong>Processor (Intel):<\/strong>\u00a0Intel i5-6600 or equivalent<br \/>\n<strong>Memory:<\/strong>\u00a016GB RAM<br \/>\n<strong>Hard Drive:<\/strong>\u00a0At least 40 GB of free space<br \/>\n<strong>Graphics card (NVIDIA):<\/strong>\u00a0nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB<br \/>\n<strong>Graphics card (AMD):<\/strong>\u00a0AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB<br \/>\n<strong>DirectX:<\/strong>\u00a011.1 Compatible video card or equivalent<br \/>\n<strong>Online Connection Requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0512 KBPS or faster Internet connection<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the recommended requirements we\u2019re looking at specifically: 16GB of RAM, a GTX 970 or R9\u00a0290 and i5-6600. That\u2019s some serious tech.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, thanks to the recommended RAM (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rebeltech.co.za\/1866-2133mhz\/6944-crucial-crucial-16gb-kit-ddr4-2133-cl15-crucial-ct2k8g4dfd8213-16gb-2x-8gb-kit-ddr4-2133-pc4-17000-cl15-12v-288pin-unbuffered-li.html\" target=\"_blank\">R1, 711<\/a><\/strong>), CPU (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rebeltech.co.za\/lga1151\/10779-intel-intel-skylake-core-i5-6600-330ghz-quad-core-lga1151-intel-skylake-core-i5-6600-bx80662i56600-330ghz-with-turbo-core-390ghz.html?search_query=i5+6600&amp;results=2\" target=\"_blank\">R3, 399<\/a><\/strong>) and GPU (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rebeltech.co.za\/geforce-gtx-900-series\/27-evga-evga-geforce-gtx-970-4gb-ddr5-pci-express-30-evga-geforce-gtx-970-04g-p4-2972-kr-4gb-256bit-ddr5-core-memory-1050-7010mhz-c.html?search_query=gtx+970&amp;results=14\" target=\"_blank\">R5, 199<\/a><\/strong> or <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wootware.co.za\/msi-r9-290-gaming-4g-r9-290-4gb-gddr5-512bit-desktop-graphics-card.html\" target=\"_blank\">R4, 915<\/a><\/strong>, depending whether you go NVIDIA or AMD respectively), you\u2019re looking to spend at least <strong>R10, 025<\/strong>, or <strong>R10, 309<\/strong> for the GeForce route.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s awfully high recommended requirements, and why is EA recommending the likes of the i5-6600? That\u2019s a part of Intel\u2019s new <a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/81786-entire-intel-skylake-cpu-range-has-been-priced-locally.html\" target=\"_blank\">Skylake range<\/a>, which while solid performers means more expensive DDR4 RAM as well as a new LGA1151 motherboard, and previous Intel chips around the same clockspeed as the i5-6600 would work just as well.<\/p>\n<p>Just as an example, 16GB of DDR3 RAM will only set you back a reasonable <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wootware.co.za\/g-skill-f3-1866c9d-16gsr-sniper-16gb-2x8gb-1866mhz-ddr3-9-10-9-28-2n-240-pin-1-50v-desktop-memory.html\" target=\"_blank\">R1, 469<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It seems like Intel has persuaded EA to recommend their Skylake processors because we can\u2019t see any other reason for not recommending prior Core CPUs.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, that\u2019s a lot of recommended compute power, even in the game\u2019s minimum requirements.
