It’s been a good day on Steam – four cool new titles have just launched on the digital distribution platform.<\/p>\n

The Ball<\/a> – US$19.99 (±R140)<\/p>\n

The Ball is a first person action-adventure game featuring a full single-player puzzle-adventure experience built on Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 technology. MyGaming recently reviewed<\/a> this great game.<\/p>\n

Players take on the role of a swashbuckling archaeologist working on the slopes of a dormant volcano somewhere in Mexico. Falling into a cavern, there is nothing else to do but explore whilst a rescue is organized. It doesn’t take long before to realize this is more than just a cave. Players will discover ancient ruins that have been hidden from outsiders for centuries and discover a mysterious artifact, a gold and metal shelled Ball. As players progress towards solving the mystery an amazing underground city, they must unlock the secrets of the Ball and learn to control the ancient artifact.<\/p>\n

DeathSpank<\/a> – US$14.99 (±R105)<\/p>\n

DeathSpank is an action RPG whose development was lead by none other than Ron Gilbert (Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island). As such, players can expect some wacky humour and a great tale. The game features 2-player co-op , a massive world to explore and plenty of weapons and armour to collect.<\/p>\n

For uncounted years, DeathSpank has been a Dispenser of Justice, a Vanquisher of Evil, and a Hero to the Downtrodden. DeathSpank has long searched for a powerful artifact called….The Artifact. Forged by unknown hands for unknown purposes some unknown time in the past, The Artifact is now within DeathSpank’s reach.<\/p>\n

Shank<\/a> – US$14.99 (±R105)<\/p>\n

Previously only available to console gamers, Shank has battled his way on to PC. Shank features stylish graphic-novel style animation and 2.5D action platforming gameplay. Shank was praised by critics when it debuted on consoles, so PC gamers are in for a guaranteed treat<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Authorial Article Edit: As has been pointed out by some absolutely correct MyGaming forumites, ‘critical praise’ for Shank was a rather dubious statement on my part. It should be noted that console versions of Shank received decidedly average ratings – around 70% – 75% on both Metacritic and Gamerankings. My humble apologies. PC reviews have yet to come in.

Nimbus<\/a> – US$9.99 (±R70)<\/p>\n

Nimbus is a unique combination of racing and puzzling. The player controls a craft with no means of directly propelling itself. Players needs to use whatever is scattered around the level to acquire thrust and reach the goal. Traverse a world map with several distinct islands in order to recover your lost love. Light on story, but heavy on gameplay Nimbus offers several hours of increasingly harder challenges.<\/p>\n

The game features 50 levels spread across several distinct islands. Players will have to use skill and puzzle solving abilities to navigate the levels. Secrets and tricks abound, waiting to be discovered, all in order to beat the best times.<\/p>\n
