Transformers<\/em> games have been hit or miss in recent years, with some adaptations soaring high and others falling short, but Platinum Games’ Transformers: Devastation<\/em> looks to be the most true-to-form Transformers<\/em> game yet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Is there more than meets the eye with this colourful action romp? We checked out the critics’ views to find out. But let’s see what the general consensus is first.<\/p>\n

It’s perhaps a little lower than we expected on the User Score front, but crititcs in general seem to love the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cCombat is fast, fluid, and flashy. Fans of Platinum\u2019s earlier works like Bayonetta<\/em> or Metal Gear Rising<\/em> will immediately feel the similarities. Just don\u2019t expect the same level of depth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Push Square<\/a> – 8\/10<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Transformers: Devastation<\/em> is a great example of how to take a licensed property and turn it into a quality title. While the game is a little on the short side, it’s strong from start to finish.”<\/p>\n

Destructoid<\/a> – 8.5\/10<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“I’m not even sure if there are G1 fans out there anymore. It shouldn’t be a deciding factor when picking up Transformers: Devastation<\/em> though, as it’s a great action romp by any right. Just be ready to deal with a few nitpicky issues.”<\/p>\n
