The indie game company Mojang AB, the creators of Minecraft, which is still in the Alpha phase of development, has recently reached the 500 000 mark of sold copies. With almost 1.6 million registered users, this is a huge landmark for Mojang AB and shows the power and value of a great indie title. The title started out as a one-man project by developer Markus Persson.<\/p>\n
With the success of Minecraft, Mojang AB will reinvest in Minecraft and also make sure to deliver new great games.<\/p>\n
“We have had a lot to do lately with setting up an office and making sure we work with the right people. We believe that we have found really great development teams that will help us make Minecraft even better” says business manager Daniel Kaplan.<\/p>\n
Minecraft was updated with some special Halloween content this weekend, adding new features such as the currently named underworld “The Slip” where the player will be able to teleport long distances in the real world.<\/p>\n
Mojang AB is also working on implementing a proper credit card payment system – good news for those who are averse to using Paypal.<\/p>\n
