Excited about Blizzard\u2019s latest team-based, MOBA-like shooter? We certainly are.<\/p>\n

And given the launch of its closed beta, you\u2019re that much closer to giving it a go. For those who do have keys, you\u2019re going to need some fairly mild hardware to run the title, joy.<\/p>\n

According to an Overwatch<\/em> blog post<\/a> over on Battle.net, this is what you\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n

Minimum (30fps)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Operating system:<\/strong> Windows\u00ae Vista\/7\/ 8\/10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
\nProcessor:<\/strong> Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 i3 or AMD Phenom\u2122 X3\u00a0865
\nVideo:<\/strong> NVIDIA\u00ae GeForce\u00ae GTX 460, ATI Radeon\u2122 HD 4850, or Intel\u00ae HD Graphics 4400
\nMemory:<\/strong> 768 MB VRAM, 4 GB System RAM
\nStorage:<\/strong> 7200 RPM with 5 GB available HD space<\/p>\n

Recommended (60fps on Medium settings)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Blizzard\u2019s mandate has always been to allow as many enjoy their games as possible, which is why very few of their titles have ever been hardware hogs.<\/p>\n

Perhaps their prettiest title of the bunch, Diablo 3<\/em>, though a few of you might argue for StarCraft II<\/em>, demands very little to be playable.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s probably the reason that Blizzard is very nearly the only game developer we know who doesn\u2019t target the absolute high-end when recommending hardware specifications. Whereas it seems that every other studio focusses on the highest echelon of hardware required to get the best possible results out of their titles.<\/p>\n

For those who want to crank up the settings, we\u2019re guesstimating something along the lines of a 3.2 GHz i5, or better, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 970 or R9\u00a0390, though we wouldn\u2019t be surprised if you could get away with a GTX 960 or R9\u00a0380.<\/p>\n
