Been holding off on getting a console? Always put off by the lack of local Xbox Live, and that pesky RROD? Well, with the new Xbox 360 S having supposedly sorted out those nasty overheating issues, and Xbox Live finally set to land in SA, there has never been a better time to expand your gaming horizons and become acquainted with the most popular HD console in the world. <\/p>\n
To sweeten the deal, local games retailer, BTGames<\/a>, has announced a rather epic special on the Xbox 360 250GB Crackdown 2 bundle.<\/p>\n For R2599.95 you can grab yourself the newly redesigned Xbox 360 “S” 250GB console, with a copy of the recently released Crackdown 2. Now, Crackdown 2 is no show stopper, but at best you can trade it in, and at worst, you should be able to get a few hours of relative enjoyment out of it. The special is valid starting today and it ends on Sunday. As usual, stock is limited. <\/p>\n Only the following BTGames stores are participating in this special: Pavilion, Centurion, East Rand Mall, Canal Walk, Menlyn, Eastgate, Greenstone, Greenacres and Tyger Valley.<\/p>\n The Xbox 360 250 GB console carries a recommended retail price of R3399, although Zaps<\/a> sells it for R3142, which makes the R2599 price tag pretty difficult to resist. <\/p>\n The newly redesigned Xbox 360 features a cooler, quieter internal design as well as built in Wifi, and it has also supposedly overcome the infamous red ring of death which has become associated with Microsoft’s console over the years. <\/p>\n Microsoft is launching Kinect next week, and Xbox Live is finally due to land in South Africa next Wednesday, November 10. Incidentally, that is just in time for Call of Duty: Black Ops, which hits shelves on Tuesday. <\/p>\n Local Xbox Live: check. Kinect: check. Black Ops: check. Epic special: Check.
