A supposedly reliable source close to The Witcher 3\u2019s<\/em> developer, CD Projekt RED, as confirmed by Gamereactor Germany<\/a>, has indicated that the Polish developer is shooting for a 2016 release date.<\/p>\n

As CD Projekt RED\u2019s most ambitious title yet, and by a long way too, we can\u2019t see Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> being ready for by the end of next year.<\/p>\n

It took them a considerable amount of time to get The Witcher 3<\/em> where they wanted it, and it was still delayed for the sake of additional work and polish.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Polish TV station TVN24 Bis<\/a>, The Witcher 3\u2019s<\/em> developer, Adam Kicinski, said that they wanted Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> to a massive commercial success, something The Witcher 3 <\/em>unfortunately isn\u2019t \u2013 even if it is the best game to release this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He continued on to say that Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> is more ambitious than they ever intended, having started the initial planning stages way back in 2012.<\/p>\n

A game of that magnitude is going to take time to perfect.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ll recall, visual effects artist Jose Teixeira told MCV<\/a> that \u201cCyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued on to say that, \u201cWe’re really stepping into the unknown in terms of complexity and size and problems we encounter.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Even if the studio has lent most of its resources to this latest title, there\u2019s still another expansion for The Witcher 3<\/em> to get through first.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not sure we want Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> to release in 2016, not if it\u2019s going to be as excellent as we want it to be.<\/p>\n

And in actuality, what is most concerning for a good portion of us is that there are rumblings that Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> is only being developed for PC.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s going to mitigate a good portion of Cyberpunk 2077\u2019s<\/em> potential sales if true.<\/p>\n
