While at its absolute best at 4k resolution<\/a>, Dark Souls III<\/em> looks to be a very pretty game at good ol\u2019 1080p.<\/p>\n

Using the most refined version of the engine used by the Souls<\/em> series yet, and thanks to Silicon Studio\u2019s Yebis post-processing process, Dark Souls III <\/em>is set to be From Software\u2019s best looking game to date, so what in the heck is going on with its PC hardware requirements?<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get us wrong, we love the idea of a highly optimised engine that can provide fantastic visuals with the 100% efficiency and very little in the way of hardware, but that\u2019s very rare indeed.<\/p>\n

We suspect that \u201crecommended\u201d is what you\u2019ll need to play the game smoothly at 1080p, rather than what will be required to run it on Ultra Settings, or the game\u2019s equivalent of Ultra.<\/p>\n

And you can forget 4k resolution with a GTX 750 or HD 7850 \u2013 you\u2019re not going to touch playable frame rates with anything less than a GTX 980 or AMD equivalent.<\/p>\n
