{"id":8463,"date":"2010-11-10T10:59:00","date_gmt":"2010-11-10T08:59:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"xbox-live-indie-games-drama-llamas-corralled-cuddled-kissed-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/xbox\/8463-xbox-live-indie-games-drama-llamas-corralled-cuddled-kissed-better","title":{"rendered":"Xbox LIVE Indie Games drama llamas corralled, cuddled, kissed better"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>They weren&rsquo;t really shot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When Microsoft rolled out the new Xbox 360 dashboard last week in time for the Kinect launch, it came with loads of glary white menus, a new font, and the Xbox LIVE Indie Games channel shunted off to a Speciality Shops sub-section far away from all the other Xbox LIVE stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, Xbox LIVE Indie Game devs weren&rsquo;t pleased about the move, prompting a 17-page saga over on the App Hub<a href=\"http:\/\/forums.create.msdn.com\/forums\/t\/64686.aspx?PageIndex=1\" target=\"_blank\"> forums.<\/a> &#8220;Steam Heroes was one of the first games to come out after the new dash change and I have to say that our sales have been beyond horrible &#8211; which is surprising, as I&#8217;d say it&#8217;s one of the better games I&#8217;ve released on XBLIG,&rdquo; said the guy from Projector Games, perhaps not entirely comprehending the real reality of the situation. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it&rsquo;s a big happy ending, because Microsoft has moved the XBLIG channel back to the Games &amp; Demos array on the dash.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a community I&#8217;d say we&#8217;re all very, very happy,&#8221; Mike Bergenstjerna of MStar Games told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/articles\/2010-11-09-xblig-devs-hail-ms-dash-switch\" target=\"_blank\">Eurogamer.<\/a> &#8220;It&#8217;s just nice to know that there are people listening really &#8211; we all adore developing for the 360 and want to carry on, because it&#8217;s one of the best consumer entertainment devices available in the world with probably the most diverse customer base of any of the three mainstream consoles.
