<\/a><\/p>\nIf one thing was sure in 2015, is that the bugs in games were the biggest problem we faced. We went from games just not working in general, to game just being unplayable across the board.<\/p>\n
PC gamers got the short end of the stick when it came to Batman: Arkham Knight<\/em>, as the game did not work in general and all the fancy features that the PC version boasted, failed to run at all.<\/p>\n That was just the beginning as more games released like Just Cause 3<\/em>, which has severe frame-rate issues and load times that will make you pull your hair out.<\/p>\n We then had Fallout 4<\/em>, which was one of the most anticipated games of the year. The game is great, but the frame rate issues and game breaking bugs, make it something that you want to be careful with while you play.<\/p>\n Bethesda then released a patch, which lowered visual quality of the game, cheap way out if you ask me.<\/p>\n There is nothing worse than purchasing a game and the first thing you see when you boot it up is the advert for its Season Pass.<\/p>\n Well, pretty much every game that was released in 2015 had this, and the developers made sure you knew that you were missing out big time on content.<\/p>\n The problem is, all this DLC was a load of nonsense. One of the most expensive Season Passes of 2015 was Batman: Arkham Knight<\/em>, which cost well over R600.<\/p>\n Players who have bought the pass have been subjected to lacklustre story drops, and content that included skins for Batman and his Batmobile. Really worth that price if you ask me.<\/p>\n Even Star Wars: Battlefront <\/em>was advertised more on its Season Pass than its actual game.<\/p>\n With the all potential of the PS4, Sony did the unquestionable in 2015, they decided to re-release PS2 games on the PS4, at premium prices.<\/p>\n The handful of games available go for around R220, and there are about 6 games available. This to me was a disappointment from Sony, especially after Microsoft\u2019s move to bring Xbox 360 games to their Xbox One.<\/p>\n Sony have skipped an entire generation of games and given players the opportunity to re-purchase the same games that they probably already own, or owned in the past.<\/p>\n Again, another way to make a cheap buck, another disappointment of the year.<\/p>\n Although the console and PC ruled the year, handhelds like the PS Vita and 3DS took the back seat in 2015.<\/p>\n The PS Vita has next to no exclusive releases on the device throughout the year, and Nintendo\u2019s \u201cNew\u201d Nintendo 3DS only had two titles that were exclusive to the device.<\/p>\n One of these was Xenoblade Chronicles 3D<\/em>, which was only playable on the \u201cNew\u201d 3DS thanks to its improved hardware, and the other was the port of The Binding of Isaac,<\/em> which could probably run on the first ever iPhone.<\/p>\n Sure the PS Vita had a few titles, but most of them were indie ports from PS4 and PS3.<\/p>\n In the end, if you bought a new 3DS or PS Vita, you probably think it was the worst mistake you made this year, and you are right.<\/p>\n Few of the games in 2015 actually managed to make a solid impact, while most of them just fell flat.<\/p>\n Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom <\/em>Pain set out to be the final game in the saga and the anticipation was everywhere. Instead we got a watered-down game that was full of tedious missions, disconnected cutscenes, and an ending that was only good if you bought the Collector\u2019s Edition.<\/p>\n Evolve<\/em> was another game that had high hopes of becoming one of the most relevant multiplayer games in this generation, but instead it is now in the bargain bin, with a few hundred players hitting the servers each day, as it failed to gain momentum.<\/p>\n Halo 5: Guardians<\/em> was advertised as the \u201cBiggest Hunt in Gaming History\u201d, but as you probably already know, the game really has nothing to do with hunting down the Master Chief at all. There was actually no showdown against the two of them, which the trailers showcased from the start.<\/p>\n The Order: 1886<\/em> was supposed to be a benchmark in gaming on the PS4, which is somewhat achieved, but it lasted for 5 hours and it was over, with no replay value or any reason to go back.<\/p>\n 2015 was a great year for gaming, but when you wipe away all the hype and false advertising, you can actually see that it was full of empty promises, and commitments that failed to reach any sort of achievement.<\/p>\n What are you biggest disappointments of 2015?
