Valve is upgrading its network infrastructure with 100Gbps Internet ports due to growth in the amount of traffic it handles.<\/p>\n

According to a report by\u00a0Ars Technica<\/a><\/strong>, Level 3 Communications handles Valve\u2019s bandwidth needs \u2013 which largely stem from its PC gaming platform Steam.<\/p>\n

Steam\u2019s traffic is growing at 75% year-on-year, according to the report, handling between 450 to 500 petabytes (500,000TB) of data per month.<\/p>\n

Steam has over 100 million users, and averages more than 10 million concurrent players per day.<\/p>\n
