Did you know David Bowie composed its soundtrack?<\/p>\n<p>Developed by Quantic Dream (of <em>Heavy Rain<\/em> and <em>Fahrenheit<\/em> fame) and published by Eidos Interactive, <em>Omikron<\/em> dared to be different and offers a fairly unique experience as a result.<\/p>\n<p>An action-adventure game first, placing the player in one of the most impressive sandbox environments of its time, <em>Omikron<\/em> incorporates mechanics from a number of genres, like fighters, shooters and puzzlers, and still to this day has yet to be replicated \u2013 a bit of a shame, if you ask us.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/images-4.gog.com\/45c24ba6d93706a4cb11331c04cba86f6a615f253bd13a6709deda7f2f09e403.jpg\" alt=\"OMIKRON: THE NOMAD SOUL\" width=\"666\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But the reason we\u2019re all reading this is because Square Enix is currently giving it away for free on their store, as a tribute to the late David Bowie.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did Bowie compose a lot of the songs and instrumentals featured throughout <em>Omikron<\/em>, he makes <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Omikron:_The_Nomad_Soul#Soundtrack\" target=\"_blank\">two cameo appearances<\/a> within the game.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Omikron for free in celebration of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DavidBowieReal?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@DavidBowieReal<\/a>. And we highly suggest you do give it a go.<\/p>\n<p>Little foibles aside, this first\/third-person shooter fighter action-adventure RPG puzzler offers a unique experience \u2013 go figure.
