One of the best RPGs to have ever graced the PlayStation 3 came from a collaboration between legendary animation house Studio Ghibli and Level 5.<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, given the level of talent attributed to the game, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch<\/em> was an instant hit, thanks to a spectacular soundtrack, interesting and fresh mechanics, and a gripping story.<\/p>\n The sequel, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom<\/em>, was announced back in December at the PlayStation Experience event.<\/p>\n Although the trailer has given us much insight to the game\u2019s story and setting, we still have a while to go before we can play it.<\/p>\n We’ve yet to even get a release window, so 2016 is unlikely. Even if it were to release this year, we know how this normally goes with Japanese produced games.<\/p>\n They release in Japan first, and then hit the West a couple of months later \u2013 sometimes as long as a year or two later.<\/p>\n Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom<\/em> will follow the story of Evan Pittiwhisker Tildrum, king of Ding Dong Dell, as he sets out to reclaim his kingdom alongside visitors from another world.<\/p>\n CD Projekt RED are still busy wrapping up The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine<\/em> expansion, the results of which should make for the finest\u00a0The Witcher 3<\/em> experience yet,<\/a> and we love them for that.<\/p>\n Their next project, Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>, is set in a futuristic world built on many of The Witcher 3’s<\/em> established mechanics. More than that, it will allow for both first and third-person perspectives, different playable classes and a non-linear story.<\/p>\n The game was announced back in 2012, where the studio revealed a CG trailer that demonstrates its setting as well as likely enemies.<\/p>\n We know the game is still in development, and we know that CD Projekt RED are dedicated to producing one killer title, but we will have to wait a while to play it \u2013 it may not even release in 2017.<\/p>\n As excited as we all are for the next entry in the Mass Effect<\/em> series, what we’ve seen up until now has been mostly concept art and developer commentary \u2013 little to pin surefire details to.<\/p>\n This leads us to believe that Mass Effect Andromeda<\/em> still has some time to go before we will get to explore its evocative galaxy once again.<\/p>\n What we do know is that Andromeda<\/em> is set in the far future, following the events of the original trilogy.<\/p>\n Once again, players will be able to play as a male or female character, and we know that the Mako is making its return, and in a big way.<\/p>\n This time, Mass Effect<\/em> is all about exploration, so it pays to have some wheels between you and the numerous planets you’ll be exploring.<\/p>\n Even with over 200 developers currently working on Andromeda<\/em>, a 2016 release date is doubtful. Besides, do you want it to release this year, even if it means a rushed job?<\/p>\n Believe it or not, but it has been nearly a decade since we’ve received a direct, numbered sequel in the Kingom Hearts <\/em>franchise, with Kingdom Hearts II <\/em>releasing in 2006.<\/p>\n Much to everyone’s surprised and absolute glee, Kingdom Hearts III<\/em> is now currently in development, but for the moment Square Enix are using their typical \u201cin development\u201d advertising, which means a long wait ahead.<\/p>\n We also know that the game will be the last in the Sora chronicles, which implies an end to the fight between Organization XIII and Sora once and for all.<\/p>\n Announced back in 2013 at E3, we have also learnt that Kingdom Hearts III<\/em> will include new Drive Forms, new worlds from the likes of Tangled<\/em> and Big Hero 6<\/em>, and new weapons as well as other Kingdom Heart<\/em> goodies.<\/p>\n With Final Fantasy XV<\/em> releasing in 2016, Square Enix is not going to blow their proverbial “load” in one year, so perhaps 2017 is the year for Mickey and friends to make their return.<\/p>\n Overkill\u2019s The Walking Dead<\/em> might be the franchise’s last hope for a decent FPS.<\/p>\n Announced in 2015 by the creators behind the PayDay<\/em> series, Overkill Studios, the game promises to bring The Walking Dead franchise to life in a way not yet experienced.<\/p>\n We know that the franchise is in good hands. Plus, having recently learnt that its release is pushed back into 2017 due to a new partnership with Korean publisher Smilegate, they’ve got all the time they need to get it right.<\/p>\n We’ve not seen any sort of gameplay of the game so far, but we are a patient lot, especially after playing the appalling disaster that was The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct<\/em>. Thanks Terminal Reality.<\/p>\n If rumours<\/a> are correct, 2016 will be the first year since 2007 that we will not have an annual Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> title.<\/p>\n This is after reports claim that the latest title, Assassin\u2019s Creed Empire<\/em>, will skip 2016.<\/p>\n The game is said to be the most ambitious Assassin’s Creed<\/em> to date, but Ubisoft have said that about every Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> entry… ever.<\/p>\n We know that Ubisoft employees spoke out of order, having told a number of people that the new Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> title will be set in Egypt, as well as the 2017 release.<\/p>\n There are also rumours going around that the Assassin\u2019s Creed<\/em> release window is to make room for Watch_Dogs 2<\/em>, which is pretty underwhelming \u2013 we’ll need to see more first.<\/p>\n Final Fantasy VII Remake<\/strong><\/p>\n We’re all hyped for the Final Fantasy VIII Ramake,<\/em> although I do believe there are better Final Fantasy<\/em> titles out there that deserve the spotlight.<\/p>\n With everything going on at Square Enix at the moment, I highly doubt you will be playing the remake this year. It’s Kingdom Hearts III <\/em>all over again.<\/p>\n If it wasn’t planned as an episodic release, we would have pinned a 2018 release date to it.
