Subvein<\/strong> – play game<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Subvein is still in its early days, currently in version 0.65. It looks and plays pretty much like GTA 2 multiplayer, but with obvious gameplay, graphical and networking code tweaks. Subvein is a top-down perspective multiplayer deathmatch arena game. Players can level up throughout the game and their levels and upgrades are perpetual, carrying over from match to match. Upon joining a server players can join either the Scientist team or the Rebel team, or go solo as a mercenary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Killing enemies and completing game mode objectives (such as capturing the enemy flag) earns upgrade points. There are also missions to complete that are unlocked as one levels up, such as scoring a certain amount of damage using only a pistol. There are various upgrade and skill options to explore and the best way is to dive right in. The developers are constantly tweaking the gameplay to ensure balance as they move towards v1.0.<\/span><\/p>\n

The game has just celebrated 5000 registered community members and it’s up to the community to spread the word. Spreading the word about Subvein and supporting the community through hosting servers earns Community Points, which can be used to re-allocate spent skill points and customise one’s player character. It’s usually not too difficult to find a populated server and the latencies aren’t bad. Hopefully South African gamers take interest in the title and we’ll begin to see some local servers popping up.<\/span><\/p>\n

A simple platformer and an introspective journey. The interpretation of the game visuals is really up to the player but certain themes are obvious. Friendship, first love, a wall of memories and\/or emotions, moving forward in life. Or I’m completely wrong. The whole experience will take about 10-15 minutes so it’s great for a coffee break and somewhat thought provoking. There are even multiple endings to try and uncover. If nothing else, the visuals and audio are great for a small flash game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ray Ardent Scientist Ninja<\/strong> – play game<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Science and ninjas are such a glaringly obvious combination I can’t believe it hasn’t be done before. Step into the jika-tabi of Ray Ardent, a scientist who loves ninjas, or is he a ninja who loves science? No matter! Players will have to guide Ray through a side scrolling world, jumping and sliding through the leels, unlocking new moves and skills as they go. Eventually Ray will be such a ninja that he can traverse an entire level in one smooth run.<\/span><\/p>\n

Broken<\/strong> – play game<\/a><\/p>\n

Broken is a slant on the tower defense genre, featuring psychedelic colours, a cool soundtrack and sub-textual meaning (should you care to look). The basic aim is to defend the heart in the centre from the constant onslaught of projectiles. One builds walls to deflect the missiles and can also collect mini-hearts that pop-up at random in order to replenish health. The pace gets rather frantic after a while and the gameplay is quite addictive.<\/span><\/p>\n
