Doesn&#8217;t this sound like we&#8217;re repeating history?<\/p>\n<p>We seem to recall Nintendo&#8217;s Power Glove being a fantastic success. Oh no, wait, it was a colossal failure.<\/p>\n<p>How would this work exactly? The patent does provide some depth about how this actual glove controller interface will function, but we&#8217;re still a little sceptical.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/appft.uspto.gov\/netacgi\/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&amp;Sect2=HITOFF&amp;p=1&amp;u=\/netahtml\/PTO\/search-bool.html&amp;r=1&amp;f=G&amp;l=50&amp;co1=AND&amp;d=PG01&amp;s1=%22Glove+Interface+Object%22&amp;OS=%22Glove+Interface+Object%22&amp;RS=%22Glove+Interface+Object%22\" target=\"_blank\">patent<\/a>\u00a0itself is titled\u00a0\u201cGlove Interface Object\u201d and was\u00a0originally filed on October 17, 2014. However, the patent was only published to the US patent site last week Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/0f7c7f3a72b311bac2d34b0767829f76_L.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-86622\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-86622\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/0f7c7f3a72b311bac2d34b0767829f76_L.jpg\" alt=\"PlayStation VR\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The glove controller promises to have you interact, be it touching, holding or whatever tickles your fancy, with virtual objects displayed on a screen.<\/p>\n<p>The diagram below is supposed to demonstrate how the glove controller might operate. The LED lights for each\u00a0glove controller\u00a0have adjustable colour selection and brightness settings to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>The bracelets contain a small sensor data CPU as well as a bevy of sensors and buttons for\u00a0different kinds of user inputs, measuring anything from\u00a0biometrics to pressure sensitivity.<\/p>\n<p>Just as like the\u00a0adjustable LED lights found in\u00a0the glove controller, it&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0speculated that\u00a0PlayStation VR&#8217;s head-mounted display will feature LED lights that offer similar functionality to the gloves, with location and orientation tracking.<\/p>\n<p>At this moment in time, there&#8217;s no suggested release timeframe for the glove controller.<\/p>\n<p>Will the release date be scheduled\u00a0at the same time as the PlayStation VR headset?
