Few were surprised when the HTC Vive was priced at $799<\/a>. Sure, it\u2019s expensive, but there\u2019s a lot of state-of-the-art technology powering it, more so than even the Oculus Rift.<\/p>\n

Turns out, the HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) headset will actually cost more to purchase outside of the US, according to its launch country.<\/p>\n

In the UK for example, instead of launching at a price of \u00a3576 (around $799 at the time of writing), it will go for \u00a3689 ($955).<\/p>\n

We\u2019re afraid what that will mean for South Africa \u2013 when it eventually launches here.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, the HTC Vive won\u2019t be launching in SA on April 5th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

When it eventually does, it will include Google\u2019s Tilt Brush alongside Fantastic Contraption and Job Simulator \u2013 if that makes any sort of difference to those of you interested.<\/p>\n
