Okay, so it’s no surprise that a new Call of Duty<\/em> game is releasing in late 2016. If you haven’t noticed, they release\u00a0the same time of the year like clockwork.<\/p>\n

But what exactly the next Call of Duty<\/em> will entail is the main question that\u00a0always lingers.<\/p>\n

While many have been expecting a return to the modern military milieu, it seems like the franchise is going to roll even further forward with its fictional\/sci-fi spin-off theme.<\/p>\n

According to a scanned copy of UK games magazine,<\/a>\u00a0Games TM, the next Call of Duty<\/em> game will be Call of Duty:\u00a0<\/em>Ghosts 2<\/em> and will release in November 2016.<\/p>\n

The magazine went on to speculate on Ghosts 2<\/em> and what Infinity Ward would need to accomplish:<\/p>\n

When creative strategist Robert Bowling exited Infinity Ward in 2012, he put the departure down to the studio doing ‘too much pew pew not enough new new.’\u00a0We got a look at what he meant with the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts<\/em> \u2013 a solid, yet unspectacular next-gen debut for the franchise. Infinity Ward will have had three years to work on a follow up, and it needs to showcase the same creative spark that once put in on the map with Modern Warfare<\/em> back in \u201908 if it wants any chance of standing shoulder to shoulder with Sledgehammer and Treyarch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The image attached to the\u00a0Ghosts 2<\/em> piece is from the first instalment in the series, and clearly shows a giant alien and some undeniably space-age weapons.<\/p>\n

This is from the original\u00a0Extinction mode from Call of Duty: Ghosts<\/em>, in\u00a0which players fought aliens instead of zombies.<\/p>\n

Whether this hints\u00a0towards the fact that the alien element will be a greater part of the sequel is unknown.<\/p>\n

At this point in time, everything is mere speculation about the game.<\/p>\n
