{"id":86828,"date":"2016-03-09T18:00:32","date_gmt":"2016-03-09T16:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=86828"},"modified":"2016-03-09T18:30:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-09T16:30:15","slug":"nvidias-latest-drivers-are-possibly-damaging-your-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/86828-nvidias-latest-drivers-are-possibly-damaging-your-pc","title":{"rendered":"NVIDIA&#8217;s latest drivers are possibly damaging your PC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you have installed NVIDIA&#8217;s\u00a0latest graphics card drivers 364.47 and\u00a0364.51, they may very well be harming your PC.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to various reports from sources such as <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.geforce.com\/default\/topic\/921332\/geforce-drivers\/official-364-47-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-3-7-16-\/25\/\">NVIDIA\u2019s official GeForce forums<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\/comments\/49cy4i\/new_36447_driver_released_with_vulkan_support_in\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reddit\u00a0users<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.neogaf.com\/forum\/showthread.php?t=1194687&amp;page=3\" target=\"_blank\">NeoGAF forums<\/a> to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>These drivers are causing a wide range of issues, which have not yet been totally resolved It&#8217;s so bad that, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\/comments\/49mctv\/it_looks_like_they_have_rolled_back_to_36200\/\" target=\"_blank\">according to user reports<\/a>, NVIDIA has officially rolled back the official stable driver release to\u00a0362.00.<\/p>\n<p>Further confirmation of this can be seen in\u00a0the GeForce Experience software that now lists driver 362.00\u00a0as the last stable\u00a0release with the\u00a0364.51 update listed as the BETA.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend that if your run into any of the issues being reported below, that you uninstall your NVIDIA drivers immediately\u00a0and roll back your driver installation\u00a0to the 362.00\u00a0release.<\/p>\n<p>The new drivers\u00a0were released with the intention of optimising the performance of\u00a0games like <em>The Division<\/em> and <em>Need for Speed<\/em>. The statements from NVIDIA appear as such:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NOTE: Best way to make sure your issue is addressed is to provide sufficient feedback so that we can reproduce your issue. If you are not sure what information you should provide, please fill out the driver feedback form below as best you can:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/surveys.nvidia.com\/index.jsp?pi=6e7ea6bb4a02641fa8f07694a40f8ac6\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\nhttp:\/\/surveys.nvidia.com\/index.jsp?pi=6e7ea6bb4a02641fa8f07694a40f8ac6<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<u>Issues and Updates<\/u><\/p>\n<p>7:30AM 3\/8\/16<br \/>\nAfter finding a critical installation issue, the team has replaced yesterday\u2019s driver (364.47) with today\u2019s new driver (364.51). This driver has been submitted to Microsoft for WHQL-approval and we will update the driver package online as soon as we have the certified package.<\/p>\n<p>4:00PM PST<br \/>\nWe have reproduced the issue and our engineers continue to debug it. Initial investigation suggests the issue is related to doing an \u201cExpress\u201d installation. We suggest those willing to try this driver use a Custom -&gt; Clean Install installation.<\/p>\n<p>9:30AM PST<br \/>\nWe have received reports of some users having issues installing today\u2019s Game Ready Driver. Initial investigation suggests the issue is isolated to multiple-monitor configurations.<br \/>\nShould you experience issues, you can either disconnect one monitor during the driver installation (and reconnect once completed) or you can uninstall the driver through Windows Safe-Mode and revert to a previous version. Our driver team is actively investigating the issue and we will have more information shortly.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here are what some of the reports from<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\/comments\/49itcj\/new_game_ready_driver_to_solve_yesterdays\/\" target=\"_blank\">mixed reception from users<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some users are reporting stability <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.geforce.com\/default\/topic\/921332\/geforce-drivers\/official-364-47-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-3-7-16-\/35\/\"
