The last time Diablo 2\u00a0<\/em>was updated was way back in 2011. \u00a0That’s just changed because the ever-popular isometric dungeon crawler recently received a new update, patch\u00a0<\/a>1.14a<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The patch can now be downloaded and focuses on dealing with system glitches when running the game on modern operating systems.<\/p>\n

The update brings with it a new\u00a0OSX installer as well as cheat-detection and hack-prevention improvements.<\/p>\n

It’s interesting that\u00a0Diablo 2<\/em>‘s legacy\u00a0lives on with\u00a0Battle.net servers, with the game still up and running.<\/p>\n

The community is still very much alive and kicking, and shows us\u00a0what a high quality game\u00a0Diablo 2\u00a0<\/em>really is.<\/p>\n

It’s amazing that such an old game still gets support from Blizzard. Moreover, in the announcement<\/a>\u00a0Blizzard said\u00a0the following:<\/p>\n

There is still a large Diablo 2<\/em> community around the world, and we thank you for continuing to play and slay with us. This journey starts by making Diablo 2<\/em> run on modern platforms, but it does not end there.<\/strong> See you in Sanctuary, adventurers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Speculation suggests that Blizzard legacy titles\u00a0like\u00a0Diablo 2 <\/em>and\u00a0WarCraft 3 <\/em>will be integrated into the\u00a0modern Battle.net client.<\/p>\n
