<\/p>\nGran Turismo 5 has been a long time coming for fans of the series. The last primary console release in the series was Gran Turismo 4, back in 2005. As a teaser, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was released in 2007.<\/p>\n
It’s strange to think that PS3 owners haven’t had their full fledged Gran Turismo console exclusive title for the current generation despite its four years on the market.<\/p>\n
All that has changed today, as Gran Turismo 5 is finally here. The rumours, speculation, and delays are finally behind us gamers, and now all that remains is to find out if Gran Turismo 5 is actually any good.<\/p>\n

To flesh out these scores, below we have abridged opinions from well respected review websites.<\/p>\n The Sixth Axis<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n “So, Gran Turismo 5: finished, complete, perfect. Right?”<\/p>\n “No, not quite, but it’s pretty damned near close. Gran Turismo 5 is essential gaming for race sim fans, something that will grow with you the more you play. Sure, there [are] some visual issues here and there and the game’s UI is fussier than it needs to be, but as a racing game, which is presumably the reason everyone’s buying the game, it’s unmatched, unrivalled and as comprehensive as you could have ever hoped for. It’s unfair to score the game at this point, though, we’re barely a quarter of the way through A-Spec and less through B and it has continued to get better every step of the way.”<\/p>\n “But it doesn’t matter anyway – just go and buy it.”<\/p>\n Destructoid<\/a><\/strong> – 10\/10<\/p>\n “With Gran Turismo 5, I found myself doing something I’ve never done with a racing game before: driving simply for the joy of it. Just as with a great car, Gran Turismo 5 feels so great that it begs to be driven. You can’t put it down. I found myself cruising the 8.5 miles of Circuit de la Sarthe this week just to enjoy the drive. When you get in the zone and really get in tune with the controls, this game really does let you tap into the pleasures of driving and racing. Gran Turismo 5 is a massive love letter to those that love cars.
