{"id":8705,"date":"2010-11-24T16:07:00","date_gmt":"2010-11-24T14:07:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"activision-ceo-promises-to-never-charge-for-multiplayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/8705-activision-ceo-promises-to-never-charge-for-multiplayer","title":{"rendered":"Activision CEO promises to never charge for multiplayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, multiplayer is a part of the Call of Duty package, and the publisher will never charge extra for it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.industrygamers.com\/news\/activision-we-will-never-ever-charge-for-call-of-duty-multiplayer\/\" target=\"_blank\">IndustryGamers<\/a>, Hirshberg had the following to say:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are we going to be charging for multiplayer? The answer is no,&#8221; said Hirshberg. &#8220;The experience you have out of the box, connecting with the online community to play Call of Duty is absolutely integral to the experience and we&#8217;ll never charge for that. It&#8217;s not going to be something we&#8217;ll attempt to monetise; it&#8217;s part of the package.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nothing we or anyone else tries is going to work if it doesn&#8217;t have tremendous value for people and add a tremendous value to the gaming experience.
