It’s hardly news that Tom Clancy’s\u00a0<\/em>The Division<\/em> is Ubisoft’s fastest selling franchise so far<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The game has been smashing sales records and pulled\u00a0in roughly\u00a0$330 million across the world five days after its launch.<\/p>\n

The latest statistics revealed that The Division<\/em> has now achieved a peak of 1.2 million concurrent users.<\/p>\n

When compared to a game like\u00a0Dota 2<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0The Division\u00a0<\/em>had a similar amount of concurrent players. The difference being that Dota 2’s<\/em> statistics reflect a period over a\u00a0month, whereas\u00a0The Division\u00a0<\/em>is over a weekend.<\/p>\n

It must be noted that\u00a0The Division<\/em>‘s user count takes into consideration all platforms.<\/p>\n

When you take a look at Steam’s concurrent user base, which is\u00a0114,000, you see where the differences lie.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0The Division\u00a0<\/em>does seem to be doing something right. Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot had this to say:<\/p>\n

The Division<\/em> taking the top spot in the industry for first-week sales of a new franchise is a tremendous achievement. We are very proud of our teams, and humbled by and thankful for the millions of players who are giving us their feedback and support. The Division<\/em> is the latest example yet of our unique ability to deliver immersive gaming playgrounds that keep players engaged, and that they eagerly share with their friends and community.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ubisoft’s\u00a0Online Services VP, Stephanie Perotti,\u00a0added that the increases in player engagement show that Ubisoft’s investments in online infrastructure and services have been very beneficial.<\/p>\n

They’ve definitely achieved something spectacular with the launch of\u00a0The Division<\/em> and the numbers support this sentiment.<\/p>\n
