Telltale Games has mentioned to Mashable <\/a>that the latest iteration of its ‘The Walking Dead’ series will be released later this year.<\/p>\n

The story-based playable adventure is planned to debut later in 2016, and will include the opportunity for new players to easily join the story of The Walking Dead.<\/p>\n

Telltale Games are faced with a difficult problem in inviting new players to the series for Season 3, as Season 2 had multiple possible endings which differ greatly and would create a confusing scenario for newcomers to the franchise.<\/p>\n

However, the studio is promising an unexpected method of accounting for the different endings Season 2 presented, which will cater for both The Walking Dead veterans and newcomers.<\/p>\n

“From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we’ve ever shown anybody before,” said the CEO of Telltale Games in an interview with Mashable<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Walking Dead has been praised for its skilled storytelling and engaging gameplay, managing to find the balance between a cinematic and gaming experience. Telltale Games have created a genre which mixes both the agency of a video game with the story-line and drama of a novel or film.<\/p>\n

The studio has also been working on other releases within their self-founded genre, including a Batman<\/a> series and new content for Minecraft: Story Mode<\/a>.<\/p>\n
