One of Xbox One’s biggest exclusives, Halo 5, won’t make the jump to Windows according to head of Xbox Phil Spencer.<\/p>\n
The news was given as part of a Q&A session at\u00a0Microsoft’s Build 2016 where Spencer addressed the media.<\/p>\n
Spencer argued that Halo 5’s gameplay was designed from the ground up for consoles and wouldn’t translate well to a mouse and keyboard.<\/p>\n
“You should expect it when franchises look like they belong on both platforms, but I wouldn\u2019t go so far as to say it\u2019s a mandate for the studios because it\u2019s not.”<\/p>\n

“In terms of Halo FPS on PC, I think there\u2019s a ton of opportunity for us right now, but I don\u2019t want to get into a world where we\u2019re looking back, like at Halo 5.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Spencer cited games that do work well on both platforms including Quantum Break, Forza 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, but insisted that there was no Microsoft mandate to ensure games work on both Xbox and PC.<\/p>\n
