South Africa\u2019s competitive gaming scene is getting bigger all the time, but there is a long way to go to reach international standards. This is word from South African eSports team manager Ryan Boyes.<\/p>\n
Boyes told MyGaming that, like elsewhere in the world, it is important to have the right structures in place to develop eSports in South Africa.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth the federation and local players need to work together to achieve success. It is like this in other countries, and takes gaming to a professional level when everyone is on the same page,\u201d said Boyes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope to see events get larger every year, and to one day have a team that we can all stand behind and be proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n
Boyes said that the MSSA has held tournaments in various provinces in South Africa to promote competitive gaming.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe tournaments are meant for professionals and amateurs. The idea is to build relationships, and help each other improve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also push hard for our high school event, as the belief to grow the gamers from a young age will help set the foundation for competitive gamers down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n
