Google’s Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox browsers have now started blocking the KickassTorrents website.<\/p>\n

Accessing the site’s URL <\/a>throws up a massive red warning error.<\/p>\n

Speaking to torrentfreak<\/a>, the KAT team confirmed that it was aware of the issuing and were currently working on fixing the issue:<\/p>\n

Chrome and Firefox are actively blocking direct access to the popular torrent site KickassTorrents. According to the browsers, Kat.cr is a “deceptive site” or “web forgery,” that may steal user information.<\/p>\n

The site’s operators are looking into the issue, and hope to resolve it soon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

KAT has been flagged in the past and last year was described as a malicious advertiser<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disabling the security settings in your browser resolves this issue, but this may open you up to genuine threats.<\/p>\n
