The CS:GO Major held from 30 March – 03 April 2016 in Columbus, Ohio generated record viewership numbers.<\/p>\n

The event generated 71 million video views – equating to approximately 45 million hours of live broadcast being consumed.<\/p>\n

The event set a new record of 1.6 million<\/a> concurrent viewers across OTT, web, mobile and in-game streaming.<\/p>\n

Activision-Blizzard were responsible for broadcasting the event after acquiring Major League Gaming in December 2015.<\/p>\n

“Last year, more than 225 million people watched competitive gaming, and the passion, engagement and size of this audience only continues to grow,” said Mike Sepso<\/a>, Senior Vice President of Activision Blizzard Media Networks and Major League Gaming (MLG) co-founder. ”<\/p>\n
