The latest MyBroadband speed test results show that Cybersmart\u2019s fibre-to-the-home service offers the lowest average latency to gamers in South Africa.<\/p>\n

MyBroadband\u2019s speed test servers make use of Ookla\u2019s platform, and are hosted in Teraco\u2019s vendor-neutral data centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town.<\/p>\n

Through NapAfrica, all network operators present at its peering points are provided with a free 1Gbps connection to the MyBroadband speed test platform.<\/p>\n

To ensure that only results from broadband connections are used, MyBroadband filters speed tests based on network information from the Internet service providers.<\/p>\n

With over 40,000 broadband tests per month, the MyBroadband speed test platform is a popular destination for South Africans to gauge their Internet services.<\/p>\n

Best broadband connections for gaming<\/h3>\n

The results show that Cybersmart\u2019s fibre-to-the-home service had the lowest latency with only 6ms.<\/p>\n

For those not lucky enough to have fibre or ADSL access, Vodacom\u2019s mobile service offered the lowest wireless broadband latency at 37ms.<\/p>\n
