Nvidia has unveiled the GeForce GTX 1080, the most powerful gaming graphics card ever created by the company, and the first to implement the new Pascal architecture.<\/p>\n

The GTX 1080 was announced on the company’s special event livestream, where it was put through its paces – running\u00a0triple-A games on the highest settings and rendering\u00a0high-detail\u00a0character models.<\/p>\n

Nvidia\u00a0said\u00a0the budget for the GTX 1080 was “several billion dollars.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The GTX 1000 Series utilises the new Micron G5X memory, which Nvidia says is the fastest memory in the world.<\/p>\n

The GTX 1080 is considerably faster than the Titan X, and the new Pascal architecture will bring an even higher level of power efficiency than that offered by the Maxwell architecture.<\/p>\n

The GTX 1080 will cost $599<\/strong> and will be available worldwide on\u00a027 May 2016,\u00a0<\/strong>while the\u00a0GTX 1070 will cost $379<\/strong>\u00a0and will be available on\u00a010 June 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

New technology and VR<\/h3>\n

Nvidia also unveiled their revolutionary in-game video game camera system, titled Ansel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ansel\u00a0can\u00a0take high-resolution screenshots with a range of different options, including stereo 360 image capture – allowing gamers to view 360 images using their\u00a0VR headsets or Android smartphones.<\/p>\n

The company used the HTC Vive to demonstrate\u00a0its\u00a0various new advances in the realm of virtual reality\u00a0and show off some\u00a0massive immersion\u00a0improvements, such as the\u00a0VRWorks Audio technology,\u00a0which creates a more immersive virtual reality environment by accurately simulating acoustics and physics.<\/p>\n
