<\/p>\nWhile the current game releases are jam-packed with quality, spiffy visuals, and new gameplay mechanics, there’s some great games on offer from yesteryear that often get overlooked (because, let’s be honest, there’s just so many releases these days).<\/p>\n
So here’s 5 games\u00a0that you may have missed, but are worth checking out:<\/p>\n
Bioshock Infinite is the third (and arguably best) instalment in the Bioshock franchise, creating an awesome blend of gunplay, RPG elements, and breathtaking storytelling.<\/p>\n
The game turns the underwater world of Bioshock on its head and throws players into a city in the skies, literally.\u00a0BioShock Infinite received critical acclaim upon release, with reviewers particularly praising the story, setting and visual art design.<\/p>\n

Murdered: Soul Suspect takes the \u2018who\u2019s killed me and why?\u2019 set-up of the B-movie classic DOA one step further by making its hero, Ronan O\u2019Connor, a ghost out to track down his killer, with the killer in question of the serial variety.<\/p>\n
Thrown out of a window and then shot for good measure, Ronan\u2019s left in a kind of ghostly limbo, able to wander through walls and furniture or temporarily possess the living, read their minds and sometimes influence (though not control) their behaviour.<\/p>\n
It’s an interesting game that has some unique gameplay ideas for those looking for something different.<\/p>\n

Easily\u00a0the scariest looking game available, The Evil Within features\u00a0Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami as the game\u2019s director, with a story that follows veteran police detective Sebastian Castellanos as he investigates the scene of a gruesome mass murder. Of course, things aren’t as they seem, and he soon finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead.<\/p>\n
The game plays out as a familiar\u00a0third-person shooter\u00a0in which scavenging for supplies and learning when to fight or run are key factors in surviving, much like Resident Evil, but for a new generation.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the comic book series, The Darkness II is a first-person shooter that thrusts you into the role of Jackie Estacado, don of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient chaotic force known as The Darkness.<\/p>\n
It’s a bloody, fast-paced, and downright brutal shooter that lets you unleash some pretty horrific powers. It’s not the longest game in the world, but for the current price, it’s easily worth the investment.<\/p>\n
