IndieDB is a recently formed<\/a> sister website to the renowned ModDB community website. The IndieDB community has recently wrapped up voting on their Indie game favourites from the year past, and now the final results have been tallied.<\/p>\n

Indie of the Year is IndieDB’s award show that rewards excellence in independent game development and all related fields. 2010 was the first year that the IOTY’s have run separately from the already established MOTY awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Minecraft is a sandbox construction game. It involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. The player takes an avatar that can destroy or create blocks, forming fantastic structures, creations and artwork across the various multiplayer servers in creative mode, or fending off zombies, skeletons, spiders and creepers in survival mode.<\/p>\n

Mount & Blade: Warband<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mount & Blade: Warband expands on the original game by introducing a sixth faction, increasing the political options, allowing players to start their own faction, and incorporating multiplayer modes. Reveiews of the game were generally favourable, with the addition of multiplayer the most highly praised element.<\/p>\n

Monaco<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Monaco is a heist game, like the movie Ocean’s 11. Play by yourself or with up to 4 people on the same screen or online.<\/p>\n

Limbo<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Limbo\"<\/p>\n

Limbo is a 2D sidescroller, incorporating a physics system that governs environmental objects and the player character. The player guides an unnamed boy through dangerous environments and traps while searching for the boy’s sister. The developer built the game’s puzzles expecting the player to fail before finding the correct solution.<\/p>\n
