Western Digital has unveiled its plans to address the demands of the storage market, from surveillance-focused hard drives,\u00a0to gaming SSDs.<\/p>\n
The solid-state drive (SSD) market is growing exponentially, the company said, as the hardware is applicable across countless different devices and scenarios.<\/p>\n
WD has addressed the growing SSD market by acquiring SanDisk, which is set to broaden the\u00a0scope of its storage solutions.<\/p>\n
The company has not yet\u00a0confirmed how\u00a0it will integrate SanDisk into WD, and whether it will\u00a0launch\u00a0a new range of WD-branded SSDs.<\/p>\n
Despite the steadily increasing demand for bigger PC storage capacity, most of the storage market exists outside the realm of personal computing.<\/p>\n
Storage is a major factor across various sectors \u2014 including security, mobile, and cloud storage.<\/p>\n
