AMD recently announced the Radeon RX 480, a high-performance graphics card based on the Polaris 10 GPU architecture.<\/p>\n

AMD has said\u00a0that the Radeon RX 480 will set high benchmarks at an affordable price, with 5 TFLOPS<\/strong> of Peak Compute power and a MSRP of $200<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Although a full set of specifications for the RX 480 has not been released, we have used AMD’s provided Peak Compute figures and recommended retail pricing to calculate a price-performance score<\/strong>, measured in GFLOPS per dollar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The price-performance score of all GPUs\u00a0is calculated using manufacturer’s suggested retail price at launch compared to\u00a0reference card single-precision floating-point performance scores.<\/p>\n

Although it doesn’t measure up to the GTX 980 Ti in terms of floating point performance, the AMD Radeon RX 480 offers a high-value GPU solution, with a score of 25 GFLOPS per dollar<\/strong> compared to the GTX 970’s score of 11,66<\/strong> GFLOPS per dollar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Radeon RX 480 is a cheap and powerful GPU for Full HD and virtual reality gaming, offering significantly more performance-per-dollar than Nvidia’s Maxell GPUs.<\/p>\n
