{"id":93699,"date":"2016-06-03T07:20:46","date_gmt":"2016-06-03T05:20:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=93699"},"modified":"2016-06-03T08:48:22","modified_gmt":"2016-06-03T06:48:22","slug":"nvidia-plan-to-use-geforce-gtx-1080-and-gtx-1070-desktop-cards-in-gaming-laptops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/93699-nvidia-plan-to-use-geforce-gtx-1080-and-gtx-1070-desktop-cards-in-gaming-laptops","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia plan to use GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 desktop cards in gaming laptops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gaming laptops will use the full desktop versions of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-and-1080-coming-to-gaming-notebooks\/\" target=\"_blank\">PCGamer reports<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the Pascal cards&#8217; increased power efficiency, Nvidia is reportedly planning to implement the full desktop versions of the GPUs into gaming laptops.<\/p>\n<p>The company will not feature any M-class Pascal graphics cards, instead\u00a0they will lower the TDP of the 10 Series in order to provide gaming notebooks with a full desktop experience.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>GTX 1080<\/strong> has a <strong>180W<\/strong> TDP, while the <strong>GTX 1070<\/strong> has a TDP of only <strong>150W<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This shows\u00a0a massive reduction from the previous generation of Nvidia cards, along with an increase in performance.<\/p>\n<p>In order to lower the power usage of the cards, Nvidia will <strong>tweak the core clocks and voltages<\/strong> of the GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070.
